It’s been rumored and now confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 see’s the return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. Variety reports that the announcement of Ritter’s return was made during Disney’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on Tuesday.
Ritter played Jones across 3 Seasons of her own show on Netflix. Though, alongside other appearances in Marvel related Netflix shows, including Defenders.
As per the trade’s coverage,
‘Ritter took the stage with Charlie Cox, star of “Daredevil Born Again,” to reveal that she would be joining that show for its second season.’
“It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders’ and now joining the MCU,” Ritter said. “I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!”

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with this version of the character. I love Ritter in the role, in principle. I loved her in Daredevil/Defenders, but I hated Jessica Jones Season 2 and 3. The first Season was not that great either. In my opinion it was saved by a strong turn from David Tennant is Kilgrave. Therefore, I’ll be interested to see if Marvel studios can do a better job writing for Jessica than Netflix could?
You can check out my Daredevil: Born Again finale review, which also has the full season grade as well Here. I liked it well enough, but Season 2 can benefit by being uninterrupted and rejigged like Season 1 was.
