Some comments from actor Jodie Turner-Smith on joining The Acolyte and her excitement at walking onto a Star Wars set for the first time. Turner-Smith was announced as one of the cast members of The Acolyte which is currently filming in Europe. Speaking with ComicBook, the actor talked about what it was like to set out onto a Star Wars set for the first time.
“Yes. Oh my God,” Turner-Smith replied when asked if there was a moment when it really hit her that she had joined Star Wars. “No matter what it’s like, as soon as you walk onto one of those sets, I mean, first of all, when you walk onto one of those sets, you’re like, ‘Okay, they got money. This is wealthy, this production.’ But second of all, it just feels, even no matter if you’re in a different show, a different movie, whatever, you’re just like, ‘Oh, I’m in Star Wars.’ It’s a very cool and surreal experience, and that was definitely another bucket list moment.”
For now, we have literally no idea who, or what Turner-Smith is playing. About the only detail we do have on the character is that it’s not a Jedi and won’t use a Lightsaber. Turner-Smith confirmed as much in a recent chat with Collider.

“I didn’t get to use a lightsaber… but I did… not get to use a lightsaber.” She went on to confirm why she didn’t use a lightsaber, revealing, “Because I am not a Jedi!”
Sounds like she was about to say something else and decided against it. What seems clear though, is that she’s really not playing a Jedi. Does that help us in any way t identify her character? Nope, because we have no idea who any of the characters are in this show yet.
The Acolyte is expected to land on Disney+ sometime in 2024, though I could not yet be more specific than that. My guess would be the first half of 2024, but that is just a guess.
