Legendary Comics released the hardcover compilation of the comic series Acursian starring John Barrowman. The series originally made its debut on Webtoon.

Acursian is a time-traveling magical journey set between 1745 and present-day that follows Charlie Stewart, a dislikeable lawyer whose bloodline is cursed by the Gods after Charlie’s ancestor, Prince Charles Edward Stewart, makes a deal with Bregon, the god of war. The exchange quickly backfires with Bregon stealing three talismans from his sisters, the goddesses of fate and time, and the battle soon ensues. Until the talismans are returned, the three sisters can no longer control fate and time, and Charles Edward Stewart and his descendants are cursed to lose everything on their 40th birthdays.

The compilation series stars John Barrowman as the main character Charlie Stewart. In real life, the thespian has a long career in acting, including notable roles as Captain Jack Harkness in Torchwood and Doctor Who, along with Malcolm Merlyn in CW’s Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Also, Barrowman released two autobiographies called Anything Goes and I Am What I Am. He co-authored sci-fi/fantasy trilogy young adult books Hollow Earth with his older sister Carole Barrowman.

He collaborated with the Acursian creative team that included his sister Carole Barrowman and Erika Lewis when they all worked together on G4’s Attack of the Show! The series features art by Beni Lobel and designs by Tommy Lee Edwards. Carole Barrowman is also an English professor and director of creative studies in writing at Alverno College in Milwaukee. She writes a column and book reviews for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Minneapolis Star Tribune. Lewis has credits in books and comics, including Game of Shadows with Macmillan’s Tor Books, Firebrand comic series with Legendary Comics, and The 49th Key from Heavy Metal Publishing.
