Paramount’s A Quiet Place has not grossed over $328 million worldwide. Without a doubt, a surprise hit for 2018. It comes as no surprise that soon after it’s release there was chatter about A Quiet Place 2 conversations over at Paramount. But with John Krasinski, co-writer, director and star of A Quiet Pace in high demand these days, would he have time for a sequel?

Promoting the release of A Quiet Place on July 10th on Blu-Ray, Collider had the opportunity to speak with producer Andrew Form. During their conversation Form confirmed that Krasinski would be involved in A Quiet Place 2.

“Oh [Krasinski is] definitely involved. We’re lucky on this one. I’ve had movies where the studio says to you, ‘Here’s your date. Let’s go!’ and on this one we’re not rushing anything, which is amazing. So we’re gonna take our time, we’re gonna figure out where to go, but there is no rush on it and we’re just starting to talk about it. We’re figuring out what everyone’s involvement’s gonna be and what the actual next movie’s gonna be. The first one is so special to us that we really want to take our time with this and not rush anything.”

Although Krasinski’s involvement was confirmed, Form said that it’s too soon to say if he would be writing, producing or directing the sequel. Also that they were going to take their time to develop the right story.

“It’s such a special movie to us, the experience and everything. It’s easy to rush these and we’ve made movies in the past where we’ve rushed them through and we’ve felt it, and we just don’t wanna do it on this one. We really don’t. We really just wanna take our time and as long as it takes, it takes. It has to be the right story, just like the first one. It just has to be.”

Besides being busy with his own projects, Krasinski has a starring role in the Amazon Prime Original Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series, which debuts August 31st and begins production on its second season in a few weeks. This show will have a big push this year at San Diego Comic-Con as it’s featured on the inside of attendees’ box they received their badges in. So if Paramount wants him involved they are going to need to be patient.
