John Wick’s Chad Stahelski To Assist Birds Of Prey With New Action Scenes

Nowadays, when you think of fantastic action directors, two of the top five names you likely think of both come from John Wick. Chad Stahelski and David Leitch both worked for years in the stunt world in Hollywood, and have since both made the big leap into directing, paving the way for more action films with a heavy emphasis on practical hits. Stahelski himself has stayed close to the world of John Wick, helming both sequels to great success.

Now, it sounds like he’ll be helping out Warner Bros. in their upcoming venture, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). THR is reporting that the actioneer will be overseeing new action scenes for the movie.

According to them, the movie is currently headed into additional photography, well on its way to hitting that February 2020 release date. The film is being directed by Cathy Yan, a relatively new director, and she will work with Stahelski in additional photography. Stahelski’s hand in the film will be uncredited, but as far as his job is concerned, he will be designing and shooting new action scenes from the film.

This isn’t a huge surprise, as his stunt firm 87 Eleven has already been involved with the production from the beginning. It almost sounds like he’s just doubling down on it to make sure it turns out as great as humanly possible.
