Jon Kasdan Developing Willow Sequel For Disney+

Oh, Willow. Like the Ewok Adventure movies, Willow is one of those movies that played a vital role in my childhood (wait, did I just reveal I used to love the Ewok movies?). However, unlike the Ewok movies, Willow was surprising in that once I grew up it actually held up pretty well as a decent movie.

For years, some fans have been hopeful to some sort of sequel of sorts in the past, and every now and then a movie would seemingly gain traction, but nothing’s really gotten anywhere…until now…maybe. The original film’s director Ron Howard recently sat down with Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast, where he revealed that Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s Jon Kasdan is developing a project for Disney+:

“There are some really serious discussion going on with Jon Kasdan who was one of the writers of Solo, who kept hounding me about Willow the whole time we were shooting, and also hounding Kathy Kennedy. We are in discussions about developing a Willow television show for Disney+…George [Lucas] always talked about the possibility of a Willow series, which he just felt innately would be great, more intimate, built around that character and some of the others.”

In addition to that, Howard revealed that the movie would be a sequel, not a reboot, and that Warwick Davis, the star of the original film would be in it in some capacity. So what do you think? Is Disney+ a good option for a Willow series? Let us know your thoughts down below!
