With the popularity of ride-sharing apps nowadays, one would meet all kinds of characters in these vehicles. However, in reality, how much trust do you have with a stranger in the car with you?

With the supernatural horror film The Toll, a driver and a passenger are trapped in a supernatural state as a The Toll Man haunts them for a specific purpose. And, that purpose is with someone’s life.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Supernatural terror and spine-tingling suspense highlight this gripping journey into fear. When Cami orders a taxi service to take her to her father’s country home, she’s hoping for a quiet and uneventful ride. But a wrong turn by Spencer, her chatty driver, results in the car stalling on a dark and remote road. After several threatening and inexplicable occurrences, Cami and Spencer realize they are being watched—by an unseen presence that sees them as trespassers, and is ready to exact a deadly toll.

The movie stars Jordan Hayes and Max Topplin in the lead roles. They are supported by James McGowan and Rosemary Dunsmore. Michael Nader wrote and directed the movie.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actors Jordan Hayes and Max Topplin. We discussed horror movies, ride-sharing experiences, and the production in the middle of the wilderness.

Jordan Hayes appeared in many television shows and films, including Mark Tonderai’s House at the End of the Street alongside Max Thieriot and Jennifer Lawrence. Other film credits include Hidden 3D, Exit Humanity, Crisis Point, and Neil Marshall’s Poor Richard’s Almanack. Her breakout television role was as Dr. Sarah Jordan in SyFy’s Helix. Also, other television roles included Flashpoint, Transporter: The Series, Conviction, and Good Witch.

Max Topplin is best known for playing Harold Gunderson in the television series Suits. He has appeared in numerous television series and films over the years. Some of his television credits included House Party, MetaJets, and Insomnia. Also, he had appeared in films, such as The Barrens, Carrie, and Dead Before Dawn 3D.

The Toll is out in select theaters, On Demand, and digital today.
