One of my favorite things about being able to conversate with filmmakers about where they get their inspirations for their films. Sometimes I get very personal answers that help me appreciate the film more. This is the case for Strike Back Studios’comedy 3…2…1… Frankie Go Boom. This film is written and directed by Jordan Roberts. It is currently available on various platforms to watch.
3…2…1… Frankie Go Boom was originally released in 2012. One of the things that makes this film a lot of fun is some of the cast. How often do we really get to see Charlie Hunnam and Ron Pearlman in comedic roles? Frankie Go Boom feels like a timeless film. I was able to enjoy it almost a decade after its release and its theme of redemption.
Here is the synopsis for 3…2…1… Frankie Go Boom
“3..2..1..Frankie Go Boom,” from writer & director Jordan Roberts embraces madcap comedy with true abandon. Rooted in honesty & sincerity at its heart, the film embraces a raunchy charm that offers laugh-out-loud belly laughs. Subtle underpinnings of sharp societal commentary on everything from the internet to love to religion and sibling torment, invite audiences in on the jokes. Toss in the comedy stylings of comedic veterans like Nora Dunn, Lizzy Caplan, Chris O’Dowd, and Chris Noth, perfectly orbiting a funny & thoroughly frazzled Charlie Hunnan—how could you not laugh?
