Josh Gad Continues His Campaign To Play The Penguin

For the last several months, actor Josh Gad has been occasionally been dropping hints, ones that imply he may in the near future be taking on the role of one of Batman’s more famous villains, the Penguin. Another hint comes today as Gad tweeted out a post showing the version of the character from the old Batman TV show of the 1960s, which was played by Burgess Meredith.

Gad’s push to play the Penguin does coincide with other rumors concerning Matt Reeves’ The Batman, which has been in the works for almost a decade now, wait, that can’t be right, I guess it just feels like a decade. No official word has come down confirming that Gad is going to monocled, umbrella-toting villain, but that hasn’t stopped him from campaigning for it. You can check out the tweet below.

Also coming today that The Batman will feature other villains besides the Penguin, you can read all about that from Jammer in the ALSO SEE section above.

While drama isn’t what Gad is known for, we have been pleasantly surprised by questionable castings of Batman villains in the past, I am of course talking about Heath Ledger, and we all know how incredibly well that worked out, so if Gad does land the role, I am more than willing to hold off judgment until we can see him in action.
