Jurassic World Dominion x NBC Sports Olympics
NBCUniversal couldn’t resist the temptation of mixing two juggernauts of the largest sporting event with the Olympics and its upcoming mega-blockbuster film Jurassic World Dominion.
Can’t blame them.
In a clever marketing spot, the studio released a television spot meshing the live-action sports athletes in the same universe with the dinosaurs.
The spot featured three-time Olympic snowboarder gold medalist Shaun White, three-time medalist skier Mikaela Shiffrin, and three-time world champion ice skater Nathan Chen.
In their training place, the Olympians will come face-to-face with certain dinosaur creatures that include the familiar velociraptor and event the T-Rex!
The Winter Olympics are already underway in Beijing as the United States strives to compete for dominance in many sporting categories. The Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics will be played tomorrow night with many of the sports already streaming and shown on NBC and Peacock.
As for Jurassic World Dominion, director Colin Trevorrow returns to helm the film with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing respectively. They will be joined by the original cast from the Steven Spielberg classic that includes Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum, who will reprise their roles as Dr. Ellie Sattler, Dr. Alan Grant, and Dr. Ian Malcolm.
The rest of the cast also includes BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu, Mamoudou Athi (Oh Jerome, No), Dichen Lachman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It).
The 2015’s Jurassic World grossed over $1.7 billion worldwide and is the sixth highest-grossing film in cinema history. To date, all the Jurassic films earned more than $5 billion at the worldwide box office.
Jurassic World Dominion arrives in theaters on Friday, June 10.
