The summer of 2015 was a very successful one for Universal Studios’ Jurassic World starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. This summer blockbuster, directed by Colin Trevorrow, broke records as it made close to $1.6 billion worldwide. With a haul like that there was no doubt that Universal would develop a sequel, which they titled Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. This sequel is directed by J.A. Bayona and will feature returning cast members Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, as well as long time fan favorite Jeff Goldblum who plays Ian Malcolm.
Currently Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is in post-production as it wrapped up filming back in July. Although there was speculation that some sort of teaser would debut at San Diego Comic-Con, Pratt and the dinosaurs were a no show at the convention. But thanks to Jurassic Outpost we may have an idea of when we could expect the first trailer.
They are reporting that Universal has told their retail and licensing partners that the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom marketing campaign will formally begin in November. It would seem like Universal is going to try and use the same marketing strategy that they used for Jurassic World, which debuted its first teaser trailer in November of 2014. The thought is that the teaser trailer could debut during NBC’s broadcast of the Thanksgiving night NFL game between the New York Giants and Washington Redskins. It’s important to note that as far as when the teaser is going to be released there is no concrete date, for now these are just rumors.
Since we don’t know much about the film, I look forward to seeing a teaser trailer which will give us a few clues to the plot. Given the figures of the first film, we know that audiences are still thrilled by this classic dinosaur franchise. Are you looking forward to the Jurassic World Sequel?
