It’s one of those things that just refuses to die. After hearing that the “Snyder Cut” to Justice League would never see the light of day, there is still an extremely large following who are pushing for its release. Yes, we know that in the original version Darkseid was set to appear in some form whether it was during the original invasion of Earth or near the end after Steppenwolf’s defeat, but the final cut didn’t even give us so much as a tease due to the fact that they thought sequels were a shoe-in. Even though that idea has come and gone, we have been getting bits and pieces from Snyder’s vision, such as the picture of Darkseid from the other day (seen above).
Ray Porter (Argo) was set to don the role of the New God and is scheduled to appear at San Diego Comic-Con in order to support the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign. The campaign is not small either, they have already raised $23,000 for the campaign of which $11,500 will be donated to the Association for Suicide Prevention (among other charities) in honor of Synder’s daughter, Autumn. If you aren’t sold on the validity of this, Porter even teased his Darkseid voice in preparation for SDCC:

Screenrant reported that Porter did complete motion capture, face capture, and ADR for the role. Snyder’s original vision is said to span 3 1/2 hours (which yes, that seems like a lot, but Avengers: Endgame hit the three-hour mark) which is said to have at least two hours of new footage with additional characters and different story arcs, etc.

To be honest, I would like to see a “Snyder Cut” if it truly is out there. Would WB be wise to release it? Avengers: Endgame is being re-released for additional footage. While it would be a big risk for WB, at the very least they could release the idea for the film in a comic format much like the current rumor regarding Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4.
What do you think of Porter’s Darkseid voice? Whether you completely hated Justice League, or mildly accepted it, would you want to see a “Snyder Cut”? Leave your thoughts in the usual spot, and thanks for reading!
