No doubt about it, next year’s Justice League film is set to be a big movie. If you thought Batman v Superman was a big flick…well, that one was only the beginning. Whether you like it or not, Warner Bros. is going full-force with Justice League, which will bring together Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg together for the first time in a live-action film.
Of course, those won’t be the only recognizable characters popping up on screen. Between the four films that have come before Justice League, we are now witnessing a world populated with many recognizable entities, and today, it was confirmed that two of them will be returning to the big screen.
In addition to our main good guys, WB released a press kit that revealed actors Jesse Eisenberg and Connie Nielsen were also involved in the production. These two play Batman v Superman’s Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman’s Hippolyta, respectively.
Luthor’s return certainly makes a lot of sense from a narrative standpoint. After all, he was the one who first made contact with Justice League big bad Steppenwolf in the closing minutes of Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition. In fact, it’s thanks to Luthor that word’s gotten out about Superman being dead, so it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out on the big screen, especially since the scene with Steppenwolf was actually cut out of the theatrical cut of the picture.
Hippolyta’s involvement is obviously a little less predictable, as we’re not privy to the details surrounding Wonder Woman just yet. One can assume that the Queen of Themyscira will make an appearance in a scene where Wonder Woman revisits her homeland, but that’s all speculation at this point.
Are you excited to see these two in Justice League? And by that I mean, are you excited to see Lex Luthor return? Let us know your thoughts down below!
