Marvel Boss Kevin Feige Says The Fantastic Four wraps next week and the also teases an upcoming ‘Age of Mutants’ after Secret Wars. The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been filming for the last few months and has a release date of 25 July to make.
Deadline reports that Feige made a video appearance at the opening of the Disney APAC Content Showcase, held in Singapore, and talked up the future of the MCU. Here is what he had to say about the progress of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Confirming that the characters will appear in both upcoming Avengers films.
“Finally, [we’re] bringing Marvel’s First Family into the MCU,” said Feige about the long-in-the-works project. “They wrap next week, the movie comes out next summer, and then all those characters go right into the next Avengers movies, so I’m very excited for the future of the Fantastic Four.”
Feige also commented on Thunderbolts* and how like Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers, it’s about bringing a team together.
“It’s taking characters from all different types of places and franchises and putting them together,” he said. “That’s what the Avengers is, that’s what Guardians of the Galaxy is.”

Finally the Marvel boss teased a post-Secret Wars future, which he refers to as an ‘Age of Mutants’.
“I think you will see that continues in our next few movies with some X-Men players that you might recognize. Right after that, the whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men. Again, [it’s] one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back.”
This backs up what was both rumored and guessed by most in the industry. That a Mutant Saga will be the next step of the MCU once the Multiverse Saga ends with Secret Wars.
