According to star Charlie Cox Daredevil: Born Again is basically a continuation of the Daredevil series on Netflix. Of course this was not always the case, but after a big reshuffle the new version of Born Again Season 1 is only a few months away on 5th March.
Cox spoke with Empire about the rebooted Daredevil: Born Again.
“There was talk early on about reinventing the whole thing, to see if Matt was a slightly different person,” Cox tells Empire in our Andor Season 2 issue. “But it ended up more of a continuation.” By the sounds of it, Born Again will exist in the same continuity as the Defenders shows, providing context for everything to come. “A lot of the history follows on,” says Cox. “The relationships and dynamics set up in the previous seasons still exist.”
Daredevil Season 3 ended with Matt, Foggy and Karen going into business together.

‘“A few years have passed,” Cox explains. “In that time, Matt, Foggy, and Karen have found a pretty good rhythm.” But nothing disrupts that rhythm like the meddling of Vincent D’Onofrio’s terrifying Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin. “Matt’s made peace with his role both as a lawyer and a vigilante,” says Cox. “Then, of course, shit hits the fan.” Sounds like Hell’s Kitchen is about to need a really good lawyer all over again.’
I’m guessing the majority of the fan base will be pleased to hear this. For a while, when things were going that other way, it was clear the leaks were not pleasing fans. Karen and Foggy killed off screen was I think the straw that broke the camels back as it were. In the end, Marvel studios agreed with the fans. Let’s hope what we get is some great TV.
