Kevin Feige Teases Some More Details About Eternals And The Agenda Of The Celestials

I’ve already spoken in a previous article about how Eternals was the movie that intrigues me the most of all the Phase 4 MCU slate movies announced this past weekend at SDCC. That’s not to say it’s the movie I am most hyped for, as I think Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder take that title, but I have an idea what those films will be like tonally. Whereas, I feel completely in the dark about what to expect from Eternals and that makes it mysterious to me.

Luckily we do have a few hints of where things might be going from the lips of Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige. The visionary movie producer spoke with ComicBook.com after the event on Saturday and whilst he didn’t give much away, he certainly teased a few more details with regards to the movie, check it out.

“It will be a story that will introduce you to this incredibly eclectic group of immortals, they’re the focus of the story,” Feige admits. “It takes place in our universe — it takes place in the MCU, so you’ll hear mentions and stuff about it but yes, the Celestials go back a long way. We know a little bit about them. The Collector told us about Celestials, Knowhere is the severed head of a Celestial. Ego was involved with them, but we learn much more about their agenda and what they’ve been up to.”

Interesting to me that he says ” Ego was involved with them”, because Ego claimed to be a Celestial himself if you remember in the movie, was he not really, or was he something else entirely, a mere tool of the Celestials perhaps? Either way it’s going to be interesting seeing how this team works, what the threat will be for them, and how this all connects to what comes next for the MCU.
