Kid Venom Swings Into The Present Day Marvel Universe

Get ready for an electrifying journey as Kid Venom, the sensational symbiote hero introduced in the Death of the Venomverse series, takes center stage in a thrilling four-issue solo comic book series set to debut this April. Renowned manga creator Taigami, the mastermind behind Kid Venom’s inception, continues to weave the character’s story, promising a deeper exploration into the Marvel mythos.

In the earlier chapters of the Death of the Venomverse series, readers witnessed the emergence of a new symbiote legend set in 10th century Japan. The tale unfolded around a young hero named Kintaro, who bravely defended his village against mysterious symbiote attacks by bonding with a symbiote of his own, known as Clinter. Embracing his newfound abilities, Kintaro transformed into the formidable Kid Venom. Now, the narrative takes an intriguing turn as Kid Venom leaps forward into present day 616 this April, expanding his impact on the Marvel Universe.

The story unfolds in Japan, circa 977, where Kid Venom confronts evil symbiotes threatening the lives of both people and creatures. However, as the young hero battles these malevolent forces, new characters and unforeseen dangers come to light, enriching the world of Kid Venom.

Taigami expressed his excitement about introducing Kid Venom to the Marvel Universe, stating, “It is an honor. I was a big fan of the Marvel Universe since I was in school, so this feels unreal that the characters and the stories that I came up with are in that Universe, and I still can’t believe it!”

The genesis of Kid Venom traces back to a manga contest held by Shonen Magazine and Marvel in 2018, where Taigami’s unique vision earned him recognition. Reflecting on the creation process, Taigami shared, “Kid Venom was based on a one shot that I sent for a manga contest… The theme that I chose was symbiote. The next thing that I thought was who would be the best host for a symbiote. In Japan, there are several famous folklores, and among them, there is a story of ‘Kintaro.’ So when I mixed Symbiote to the legend of Kintaro, ‘Kid Venom’ was born.”

Marvel enthusiasts can anticipate the release of Kid Venom #1, featuring a special FOIL VARIANT COVER by artist Gerardo Sandoval. This visually stunning piece captures Kid Venom unleashing his full symbiote strength, ensuring an unforgettable reading experience this April. Additionally, for those who missed the inception of this symbiote saga, all four Kid Venom chapters from Death of the Venomverse will be compiled in Kid Venom: Origins #1, set to go on sale on January 3.
