The LEGO Movie was a smash when it came out in 2014. It established a particular tone, look, and set a precedent when it came to its voice cast. That film featured Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, Will Arnett, Channing Tatum, and more. With two more LEGO movies already in the pipeline, one would have to wonder how- or if– they could top themselves.
Well, the cast for The LEGO Ninjago Movie has been revealed, and it’s pretty damn exciting:
Jackie Chan as Master Wu
Dave Franco as Lloyd
Michael Peña as Kai
Abbi Jacobson as Nya
Kumail Ninjiani as Jay
Zach Woods as Zane
Fred Armisen as Cole
This is something of a modern comedy dream team, when you consider that most of these performers hail from some of the most revered comedy properties of the current era. You’ve got stars from SILICON VALLEY, BROAD CITY, PORTLANDIA, an ANT-MAN scene-stealer, a kung fu movie legend, and Dave Franco.
The LEGO Ninjago Movie comes out on September 22, 2017.
