Premiering today on Peacock is the new comedy series, Killing It. The series stars Craig Robinson, Claudia O’Doherty, Rell Battle, and Stephanie Nogueras. Here we will follow the adventures of Craig Foster, played by Robinson, as he struggles to try and become a successful entrepreneur. Even if that means that he has to become a snake hunter in Florida.
Killing It is a fun series that really highlights the struggles of many people who believe they have an idea that they believe can take them to the top. But trying to reach his financial goal is not his only priority as he has a daughter with his now ex-partner whom he co-parents with. The series does a good job at showing co-parenting in a good light as Craig and Camille, played by Nogueras, communicate well even during stressful situations.
As we speak of communication, you probably noticed that in Killing It, Camille is deaf and uses sign language to communicate. This is another thing that the series does well. What comes through first is her frustration and compassion with Craig and not her form of communication. When she interacts the scenes don’t slow down or lose their spark. Especially with Robinson having learned some sign language himself to help the flow. With that said I am not discounting the importance of her disability as now many people around the world can see someone like them just dealing with life. Something that could be inspiring.
