Knives Out 2 just added its third actor. The day after Dave Bautista was cast, Deadline reports another Marvel Studios actor, Edward Norton, has joined the sequel.
While Bautista was a great get because of his stardom and surprising comedy chops, Norton is a different type of exciting. Norton has been very picky when it comes to movie projects. Well, at least since The Incredible Hulk.
Recent Norton projects have included Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Birdman. The fact he has signed on shows he has faith in the script and writer/director Rian Johnson.

Knives Out 2 starts shooting this summer in Greece. Craig returns as Detective Benoit Blanc, though he will be solving a new mystery, in a new locale, with new suspects. Norton and Bautista are just the first two of what is expected to be a rather large ensemble cast like the first film. I can’t wait to see what other fun actors the film adds next.
Netflix closed a deal of over $400 million for Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3 (as they are known for now). As previously mentioned, Johnson is again writing and directing the sequel. He is also producing with Ram Bergman.
The first Knives Out film is one of my favorite movies from recent years. It was quirky, smart, and fun with a great mystery. It’s more in line with Brick and The Brothers Bloom than Johnson’s sci-fi projects. If you haven’t seen those two films, I highly recommend them as we wait for Knives Out 2.
