Knives Out 2 is shaping up fast since Netflix closed a deal for over $400 million to distribute the two sequels to Rian Johnson’s 2019 film. With the first sequel set to start filming this summer in Greece, we’ve been waiting for casting news.
The first official actor to join Daniel Craig in the film is….
Dave Bautista!
Deadline broke the news. Craig returns as the eccentric “CSI-KFC” detective Benoit Blanc. That’s really all we know about the Knives Out 2. Detective Blanc will be solving a new case, in a new locale, with new a bunch of new suspects. And Bautista is the first cast of the many suspects.
Rian Johnson is back to write and direct both sequels. Due to their standalone nature, only expect Bautista to appear in this first sequel.

If he turns out to be the killer (it wouldn’t be the first time an “Avenger” was guilty), this will be the second time Bautista faces off against Craig. Bautista played the lead henchmen Mr. Hinx in the lackluster SPECTRE film.
Of course, we all know who Bautista is, but if you don’t, he’s most well known as Drax in the Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy films, as well as Thor: Love and Thunder. He also stars in Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead which comes out this Friday on Netflix.
I think this is an excellent start to casting Knives Out 2. I can’t wait to see what names Rian Johnson can produce next.
