Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG as it is known amongst the cool kids has been out for some time on PC and Xbox One already, albeit in a trial state. However, as you can see from the live-action trailer above, the full game is now available for PS4. PUBG is one of the world’s most popular games, but if anything it has been eclipsed slightly from those that essentially stole the basic concept from it. As PUBG grew its idea of Battle Royale gaming has since been made even more popular with Fortnite and now COD: Black Ops 4‘s Blackout mode.

Is it a little late in the day now for PUBG to find popularity amongst the PS4 players already knee deep in both Fortnite and COD? The problem with PUBG is, that it’s not the most polished game around, it runs at best at a stuttering 30FPS even on the Xbox X. The accuracy of weapons has some seriously weird issues compared to both Fortnite and COD also.

In a way, before the developers could complete their unique Battle Royale multiplayer only game, bigger and richer companies came along and got their finished products out there faster. So whilst PUBG may be the game that started it all, I do think it will struggle to compete with its more refined competitors.

If nothing else people will buy it just to see what all the fuss is about and they have this kick-ass live-action trailer directed by Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts right?
