Kraven was plan B for No Way Home says Tom Holland. Holland recently chatted with Collider and revealed that if Marvel and Sony hadn’t managed to get the multiverse cast together, the plan B was for Kraven the Hunter to be the villain in the movie. Of course, the rest is history. The film is out soon and we know they pulled off that Multiverse plot after all. As for Kraven himself? Sony are pushing ahead with Kraven the Hunter starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Whether that version of Kraven will ever go up against Holland’s Spider-Man remains to be seen.
Here is what Holland said:
“For a long time, there was going to be a Kraven movie that was going to be the third movie because things weren’t working out and all sorts of different stuff. Jon pitched me this Kraven movie, which actually was really cool. I don’t want to talk about it in case that movie ends up happening down the line, but it was fun.”

Interestingly Kraven was the top fan choice for who the villain in the third Spider-Man movie should be. Though I guess that was partly due to most fans not even considering this crazy Multiverse plot. There is still a part of me that kinda pines for that more simple Kraven story. I do worry that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be a little too much. However I genuinely hope I am wrong about that and it’s a great movie. Plus, it is always possible for Marvel and Sony to go back to Kraven for a fourth or fifth Spider-Man movie.
Given the cast already confirmed for No Way Home, plus the rumored ones we don’t officially know about, it’s no wonder this was a tricky movie to make. Holland had already mentioned how the various deals being done were going to define exactly how the movie would shake out. For all we know there are other characters who were supposed to appear they could not make work? Though it seems for now like Marvel and Sony managed to get everyone back they were after for this one.
I guess we’ll find out if it was all worth it next week? What do you think of the comments of Tom Holland that Kraven was plan B for No Way Home? As always, leave any thoughts below.
