Kristen Bell Says She’ll Do Veronica Mars Until ‘Everyone In Neptune Is Dead’

I can’t speak highly enough about Veronica Mars. It was a series that was way ahead of its time. In an era where episodic procedural TV was all the rage (unless your name was either LOST), it dared to give us heavily serialized aspects within its episode runs. Yes, you could follow the mystery of the week in many cases, but a large chunk of each episode also went to solving the season-long or half-season-long mystery.

The show only lasted three seasons in its initial run, and a few years back, it received a theatrical treatment, courtesy of crowdfunding. Now, Hulu is bringing it back for a fourth full season. But how long can we expect Kristen Bell to keep reprising her role?

Speaking with TVLine, she seemed all for an indefinite renewal.

“I told [series creator] Rob Thomas that I will do Veronica Mars until it’s Murder, She Wrote. I will keep doing this show until everyone in Neptune is dead. And then the big reveal [in the eventual series finale] is that Veronica‘s the criminal; she killed everyone!”

I love the spirit! That being said, I do think transforming this into something like Murder, She Wrote would be a tad overkill. Instead, I recommend letting this show go for three to four-season spurts every 10-15 years. That way, we can her grow up in this seedy town of Neptune without being inundated with TOO MUCH Veronica Mars.
