Krypton Trailer: Someone From The Future Is Coming To Destroy Krypton

When news first hit of Syfy working on a new series called Krypton, it wasn’t all that intriguing. Why on Earth would we even bother seeing the world of Krypton when we know that it’ll ultimately be blown up? Plus, in true TV show format, it would only be a matter of time before producers lost faith and the show and half-assedly brought in the better known aspects of Superman.

However, things got a little more interesting when we found out that this wouldn’t just be a story about Grandpa-El (Seg-El) hanging out on Krypton, slowly destroying his own planet with his baby boomer buddies. This entire premise is based around time travel, and in the recent trailer for the show, they don’t try to hide it.

Syfy premiered this trailer at the TV Critics Association, and in it, we not only get to see a bit of what Krypton looks like decades before its destruction (it looks pretty cool), but we even get a look at the character of Adam Strange, who looks a lot more normal than we’d expect.

While I initially did not care to see what a Krypton-based story would be about, this Terminator-like plot looks like something that could at least hold my interest for a season (obviously more if it’s good). More than anything, the visual effects look pretty solid, which I did not expect.
