Lakeith Stanfield Join’s Rian Johnson’s Knives Out Murder Mystery Film

They say that the most important aspect of directing is hiring the right people to take on the job. Hire the best people for the role and the work essentially takes care of itself. This is also true for the cast of a film, who carry a huge load on their shoulders in terms of what the audiences actually see on screen. You can have the best script in the world, but if the cast sucks, it can flounder and wallow in mediocrity.

When it comes to the upcoming Rian Johnson movie Knives Out, it looks like Johnson is doing a great job of making sure said mediocrity doesn’t happen. As we already know, Daniel Craig was a key partner in getting the picture sold. Last week, Chris Evans joined the movie, and now, thanks to a new report from Deadline, we have another big name.

The outlet states that the fantastic Lakeith Stanfield is also set to join the project. The actor has made his mark on the business as a dynamic and interest talent, taking on roles in films like Get Out, Death Note, and Sorry to Bother You, the latter of which really turned a lot of heads.

Knives Out will likely shoot next month and is being described as a modern-day whodunnit mystery, which is absolutely perfect, considering Johnson got his start in the business working on mystery films like Brick.

Consider Stanfield another amazing talent in this already-promising film.
