Day by day the cast of Sony’s Bloodshot, starring Vin Diesel, continues to grow. According to Deadline Lamorne Morris has now joined the film. He has recently finished 145 episodes on Fox’s New Girl as Winston Bishop.

The report says that he will play the role of a character named Wilfred Wigans, a young scientist who becomes Bloodshot’s unlikely Ally. If the first film is successful and the franchise continues, the rumor is that Morris is signed on for two more films.

Bloodshot is based on Valiant Entertainment’s comic book character Ray Garrison who goes by Bloodshot after he is brought back from the dead by a group called Rising Spirit Technologies. They use state of the art nanotechnology to repair and enhance him. The procedure gives him memory loss, causing him to struggle to figure out who he was before and where he came from. All while figuring out exactly what type of deadly weapon his body has become.

Morris has recently finished up a couple of projects including an untitled Danny Boyle-Richard Curtis comedy from Universal/Working Title and the National Geographic/STX miniseries Valley of the Boom. He was last seen on the big screen in Warner Bros. Pictures/New Line’s comedy Game Night. Morris joins Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, Talulah Riley, Alex Hernandez and Toby Kebbell on the film.
