Latest Eternals Atlantis Rumor Sounds Cool But Is It Genuine?

Eternals Atlantis rumor

This latest Eternals Atlantis rumor sounds pretty cool, but can we put any stock in it? Read on for more details and make up your own mind.

Eternals is still being worked on remotely right now, even though all Marvel Studios productions have ceased. From what I understand, some principal photography remains still to be completed on Eternals. That doesn’t stop the VFX work from being carried out, and the CGI whizzes are at home working away. Eternals remains shrouded in much mystery for us fans, and as such it’s hard to judge the rumors and leaks.

Today’s rumor from MCU Cosmic, was only posted as a ‘rumor’, which is a little strange. There appears to be no other source, so one assumes the outlet has got this info from their own sources. However, that’s as much as we know. The outlet begins by predicting when and where Namor the Submariner will show up in the MCU. However, after predicting it would not be in Eternals, they describe a rumor that we will see the sinking of Atlantis in an event from the Eternals past. They then guess that this may be a set up for Namor himself to appear in Black Panther 2. Namor for Black Panther 2 is certainly a rumor I have heard before, more than once.

Now, I don’t see this as outlandish or find it easy to discount the rumor. However, I also don’t like the terminology used, if this is a rumor, who began it? It seems like MCU Cosmic began this rumor, so I’d be happier if they reported it as ‘sources’, which they have not. We here at LRM get sent a lot of crazy rumors, but developing sources is a far trickier task, that takes time and trust. If one of our trusted sources tells us something we sit up and take notice, even if we can’t always publish. This sounds to me like a new source, or someone the outlet doesn’t fully trust yet giving them information. That doesn’t mean it’s not genuine, but it adds a shade of doubt for me.

Namor making his MCU debut in Black Panther 2, and Atlantis being set up in Eternals would make sense? However, just because something makes sense doesn’t mean it’s true. I think if this ends up happening, then it will be a really cool way to add this character and society into the MCU. I do think Namor will come into the MCU eventually. There have been too many Namor rumors floating around to not think he’s is in Kevin Feige’s headspace. Until we get something more concrete than a rumor however, I’ll remain skeptical.

What do you think of this rumor? Would Eternals be a good place to tease Atlantis and eventually Namor? Let us know your thoughts in the usual spot below.
