If you’re like this writer, chances are you’ve been around the block with the Kingdom Hearts series — at the same time, just like me, you have given up trying to make sense of the plot a long time ago. Don’t get me wrong. I love a good convoluted anime-esque story, but I don’t pretend to understand them as they get more and more ethereal.

This goes especially for the Kingdom Hearts series. As it stands, I’ve completely given up trying to follow the storyline, but I’m always game to jump into things for the gameplay and fan service alone. As a Disney and Final Fantasy fan, these games have never left me wanting on that front, so I personally couldn’t be happier with what this latest trailer delivers. From Frozen to Wreck-It Ralph, it looks like this latest from Square Enix is bringing the goods!

If you’re new to Kingdom Hearts, this trailer shows the terrible threat we face. The Disney and Pixar worlds are in danger of being swallowed in darkness. Only by uniting together will we stand a chance! Join the Keyblade wielder Sora as he travels across the Disney/Pixar universe and meets familiar faces across familiar places in order to fight against the Heartless and darkness brought forth by Master Xehanort”
