X-Men casting announcements and trailers for Avengers: Doomsday and VisionQuest are all rumored for Marvel’s D23 presentation today. This article goes over all the latest Barside Buzz of what we could expect later today from Marvel Studios. The biggest rumor for a while now and backed by trades is that Marvel wants to announce the cast of X-Men and maybe even date the film.
We’ve been tracking all the rumors from this casting process and so far we have four names everyone agrees on. Sadie Sink for Jean Grey, Kit Connor for Cyclops, Samara Weaving for Emma Frost and Adam Driver for Mister Sinister. Outside of these four, the rest is a little up in the air. The others we expect for sure are Beast (Charles Melton has been rumored) and Professor X (I’ll get to him). There has been fan speculation on Storm but no actual rumors, till now.
Jeff Sneider had some new information on this week’s edition of The Hot Mic podcast. The reliable leaker says he’s now hearing actress Suzy Bemba has landed the coveted role. His source on this is the same one who gave him Kit Connor as Cyclops before the trades. However, Sneider also warns this source denied to him that Sadie Sink was Jean Grey, so he warns a pinch of salt.
As for today, Sneider thinks only four cast members will be presented at D23. This could be the four conformed names mentioned above, but I doubt they’d have Driver’s villain there, so I wonder if the other could be Professor X?
A leaker I don’t normally cover is saying Christopher Abbot has landed the part.

Abbot’s name was first put out there by THR as we covered earlier this week. But again, I’ll say pinch of slat on this one. As for Charles Melton all we know is that it’s not a lock yet, or wasn’t as of a few days ago.

Meanwhile Daniel RPK says that we should be getting a new trailer today for Avengers: Doomsday, plus a first trailer for VisionQuest.

So I guess we shall see if these predictions/rumors come true in a few hours time.
Sadly folks, I will be fast asleep when this all kicks off from 7pm PT which is 3am for me. I will jump on and post any updates tomorrow morning and see what happened. I must say I expect the basics. Trailer for Doomsday, trailer and maybe a few words from stars for VisionQuest and then the X-Men cast appearance and a date, which I expect to be May, 2028.
