Laura Bailey doesn’t deserve this. No voice actor or actors deserve to be criticized for their roles in movies, television, or video games. It’s part of their job.
The Last of Us 2 released last month with high critical praised and very shocking twists and turns.
We’re not going to reveal what happened in the video game specifically, but it’s obvious certain fans are upset with the character Abigail “Abby” Anderson’s actions in the video game. Abby is a playable character in The Last of Us 2 and the central antagonist from Ellie’s perspective.
She is voiced and motioned captured by veteran voice actress Laura Bailey with Colleen Fotsch served as the face and body model.
Despite being one of the best-selling video games this pandemic season, some die-hard fans took offense to the storyline twists and took it out on the actress.
“Man. I try to only post positive stuff on here…but sometimes this just gets a little overwhelming. I blacked out some of the words cuz, ya know, spoilers,” Laura Bailey Tweeted. “Side note. Thank you to all the people sending me positive messages to balance it out. It means more than I can say.”

What are some of the death threats sent to her?
One wrote, “I’m going to kill you ***** in the Last of Us Part 2.”
Another gamer wrote, “I’m going to find where you live and slaughter you for what you did to *****. Mark my fucking words.”
And finally, a Tweeter messaged, “I hope your parents die by a hard cancer for killing my *****. I will find u and I will kill your kid for that just wait for that.”
Laura Bailey is a very talented video game voice actress. Her resume includes Kait Diaz in Gears 5, Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man, and Jaina Proudmoore in World of Warcraft. She also has voiced in animated television shows like DuckTales, Avengers Assembled, and Future-Worm! And she developed a strong fan following by playing Dungeons & Dragons in Critical Role.
These fans need to lighten up. It’s just a video game. Gamer rage like this should not be tolerated, and hopefully Twitter erases their existence for death threats.
