Leslie Grace Cast As Batgirl At DC After Extensive Search

Leslie Grace cast as Batgirl

As per the title, Leslie Grace cast as Batgirl after DC went on an extensive search for their new star. Grace was one of many leading contenders for the role and THR reports that she won out in the end. Grace, who’s breakout role was in In The Heights is joining the DCEU as their Barbara Gordon.

From a script by Christina Hodson, Batgirl will be brought to life by Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Hodson wrote Birds of Prey and is also the latest writer on The Flash. Leslie Grace has also made a name for herself in the music industry. Grace has received three Latin Grammy Award nominations.

With DC also casting Sasha Calle as Supergirl in The Flash, it’s a great time for Latino actors. Will we ever see Calle and Grace together as Batgirl and Supergirl? Who knows, I think Grace is around to stay as Batgirl, but not sure if Calle will remain after the climax of whatever the heck The Flash plot is. The movie is still supposed to be loosely based on Flashpoint and therefore usually ends with Flash having fixed things back. We’ll see though I guess?

What I am interested to see is, who’s ‘Batgirl’ is Batgirl? There is no way this version of Batgirl will connect to the Robert Pattinson Batman, he’s too young to have an adult Batgirl yet. Is Grace the Batgirl that worked with Ben Affleck’s Batman, or will she be mentored by Michael Keaton’s returning Batman? That’s the thing with a non-connected Multiverse. Yes, it allows more opportunities to go crazy, but it also gets hard to work out which projects are supposed to be connected.

Who do you think of this news as Leslie Grace cast as Batgirl? As always, sound off below.
