Kate Herron, Loki director wants Spider-Man! The director of Marvel’s latest big Disney+ show recently chatted with The Playlist and was asked what other MCU properties she would like to direct.
“I’m a massive Spider-Man fan,” Herron explained. “That would be a dream of mine. I think Tom Holland is fantastic and I’ve really been enjoying his version of the character.”
You never know? We really have no idea what happens to Spider-Man post- No Way Home, but we do know that director Jon Watts will be moving on to another franchise for Marvel Studios. Watts will direct Fantastic Four for Marvel Studios, probably due to hit sometime in 2023. However, that might not mean there is a space open for Herron. Contractually we all hope that the relationship between Sony and Marvel will continue. However, we cannot say for certain right now. All I can say is this fan would love a new trilogy covering Parker’s college years. Then, another covering his adult life. I’m greedy.
What about Loki Season 2? Whilst there is no official conformation that Loki will get a Season 2, there have been hints. Everyone involved has been sure to remain coy on a Season 2, but it feels like there are plans afoot. Herron, clearly has been to the Feige school of answering awkward questions.
“For me, I feel like it’s the one season,” she said. “You never know what Kevin Feige is planning, but as far as I’m aware, this is Loki’s story and this is what I’m on for.”
Intriguing to say the least. Some of the earliest clues we had relating to a Loki Season 2 came from Feige himself. I guess we will simply have to wait and see if there are any legs left in Loki after the show is finished. However, we have a long way yet to go, and I thoroughly enjoyed Episode 1, so I can’t wait to watch Episode 2 tomorrow.
It may be too early to give your opinion on Herron as a director. However if you have any thoughts about how the Loki director wants Spider-Man to direct in future, feel free to post them below.
