Loki star Owen Wilson learned about the lore of the character from none other than the man behind the mischievous smile, Tom Hiddleston. I, for one, am extremely jealous. Oh, to be a fly on that wall…
Owen Wilson plays Time Variance Authority Agent Mobius in the upcoming series from Disney+. Loki will be the third Disney+ show from Marvel Studios after WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
As seen in the trailer, Owen Wilson as Mobius will be keeping an eye on Loki, so it was important for the actor to know all he could about Hiddleston’s character. Who better to teach him that the man who has been playing Loki for around a decade?
Wilson shared the experience with SiriusXM in a recent interview:
Actually, Tom Hiddleston – who of course plays Loki – he kind of – or we kind of – you know, they were almost like the Loki lecturers. And so he, for a couple days, walked me through everything and the whole lore and showing me clips from the other movies and how it all fed into this story.
So, it was really kind of Tom telling me about it and telling me about his character. And even in the way sometimes that he would describe his character, it was useful for me, because my character Mobius in Loki is kind of interviewing him at some point. So, it kind of worked doing it that way.
It makes sense that with all the busy actors that are brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it can be a chore to catch up by watching over twenty films to prepare for a role. With Loki appearing in many movies directed by different directors, the true expert to help out Wilson would be Hiddleston.
