Loki Showrunner Teases Sci-Fi Elements In Disney+ Show

Michael Waldron the Loki showrunner teases sci-fi elements in in the upcoming Disney+ show. To be honest, if you have been following all the rumors for Loki, this news won’t come as much of a surprise. Waldron commented on the new landing page for Loki and that response was captured by a fan, check it out.

Now to get into some of the rumors that have appeared relating to Loki. Far as we know Loki will deal with the God of Mischief getting caught up with an organisation called the TVA. That stands for Time Variance Authority. From putting together a few bits of information we can make a few deductions about Loki.

We know that this version of Loki is not the one who was killed in Endgame, he is dead. This will instead deal with the Loki who used the Tesseract to escape from 2012 in Endgame after Tony dropped it by his feet. There are also some rumblings that different versions of Loki could show up in the show. Richard E. Grant will appear in Loki and for a while fans, (including me) have theorised he could be playing an older version of Loki. There is also the addition of Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) to take into consideration. Again, myself and many other fans are guessing Wolfhard could play a child version of Loki.

Loki showrunner teases sci-fi elements

Cut a long story short, it seems like Loki will be (perhaps reluctantly initially) working with the TVA to right some wrongs throughout the multiverse. This is all just rumor, but it would line up pretty well with Waldron’s comments about sci-fi and expecting the unexpected. Ultimately I envision a cross between Back to the Future and Quantum Leap. That might not be accurate, but damn is it intriguing.

Production on Loki has yet to resume, although it’s not due to hit Disney+ until next year. It seems Marvel will be more concerned with Falcon and The Winter Soldier and WandaVision. Both shows are set for Disney+ this year and were due to start back soon. However, a recent spike across the U.S. of Coronavirus cases has thrown current plans into doubt. With theaters in California already shutting back down, is it possible the entire Marvel slate could be delayed even further?

What do you think of Waldron’s comments as the Loki showrunner teases sci-fi elements? Leave your thoughts below in the usual place if you can.
