Luck Trailer Has Ill-Luck Woman Following a Black Cat into a New World

Luck starring Eva Noblezada and Simon Pegg

For one woman, she needs all the luck she can get in the animated movie Luck on Apple TV+.

The streaming service released the official trailer from Skydance Animation about a young woman who tries to turn on her luck with a penny. As she accidentally flushed her lucky penny down the toilet, she follows a black cat down a magical gate that leads her to a world of good luck and bad luck realms. With her bad luck presence, she turns the good luck world on its head and she must save both worlds with her given luck.

Here is the official synopsis:

From Apple Original Films comes the story of Sam Greenfield, the unluckiest person in the world, who when she stumbles into the never-before-seen Land of Luck, sets out on a quest to bring some good luck home for her best friend. But with humans not allowed, her only chance is to team up with the magical creatures that live there to do it.

The animated film features the voice talents of Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, Eva Noblezada, Simon Pegg, Flula Borg, Colin O’Donoghue, John Ratzenberger, and Adelynn Spoon. Peggy Holmes directed the animation from the screenplay by Kiel Murray.

Apple TV+ has been on a good string lately with its original programming. With John Lassater at Skydance Animation now, the quality of animated storytelling films should leap exponentially at the expense of Pixar Animation.

In this first trailer, the film looks like a lot of fun with good animation.

Luck premieres globally on Apple TV+ on August 5, 2022.
