ORIGINAL STORY:
Late last week we heard that like Iron Fist before it Luke Cage would not be getting a Season 3. The official cancellation reason for Iron Fist is unclear and thought to be due to poor viewing figures, though as always with Netflix, we just don’t know the numbers.

However, with Luke Cage the cancellation was met with rumor of the old ‘creative differences’ we hear a lot in this business. The rumor revolves around an apparent drive from Marvel to have Luke Cage Season 3 cut from 13 episodes to 10. Truthfully we have no real idea if this had anything to do with the shows cancellation or if it even happened.
Now showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker has posted on social media for the first time since the announcement and there is no mention of why the show was canned. Coker merely thanks everyone who worked with him on the show for their time, check it out below.
A lot memories. A lot of individual thank you calls to make. Just want to say thank you to Marvel, Netflix, the best Writer’s room, cast, crew, the Midnight Hour, all those who graced the stage at Harlem’s Paradise and the most incredible fan base in the world. Forward always…

Will Netflix look to combine Luke Cage and Iron Fist into a Heroes for Hire show, who knows? We know that Netflix said we could expect to see Danny Rand show up in other shows, but there has been nothing similar mentioned yet for the character of Luke Cage?
Both shows effectively ended their second season with cliff-hangers that were clearly designed to lead into a third season. It would seem strange to have both those arcs dealt with in one show about both characters?
Are you sad that these shows have been cancelled or do you simple not care? Shout out your thoughts in the usual place below.
