Luke Cage Showrunner On Potential Heroes For Hire Spinoff

It’s long since been confirmed that Danny Rand will be returning in the second season of Luke Cage. The two have a history in the comics, and despite Finn Jones’ Iron Fist not exactly sitting too well with fans, the chemistry between the two in last year’s The Defenders was unmistakable. With the way things are headed, it seems inevitable that a Heroes for Hire series is on the way.

If you were hoping to see it take root in Luke Cage Season 2, you may be in luck, because it sounds like the two will be involved in a brawl that will set their small world on fire, as it culminates “in a fight to end all fights that was just one of the most fun things we’ve done,” as showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker states.

But will we be getting an honest-to-goodness Heroes for Hire series down the line?

“It’s something that’s in the air. Internally at Marvel Television, everybody knows there’s a part of that combination that is inevitable, particularly when you watch them together in the way that we did it. If feels right. It feels good. It feels like, I want to see more of this combination. Heroes for Hire is really not off the table.'”

With this being in the air at Marvel TV, I suppose it all depends on how well this new season of Luke Cage is received. I suppose the question here will be twofold. Will the new season be good enough for fans to flock to it, and will some of that success have to do with the Luke-Danny dynamic? We’ll have to wait and see!
