Luke Greenfield is the director of the new comedy, Half Brothers. Greenfield does an outstanding job directing American comedy and Mexican soap opera drama in one film. This humor is used to bring out a different point of view of a clinched concept of Mexico.
The Synopsis
Renato (Luis Gerardo Méndes), a successful Mexican aviation executive, is shocked to discover he has an American half brother he never knew about, the free-spirited Asher (Connor del Rio). The two very different half brothers are forced on a road journey together masterminded by their ailing father, tracing the path their father took as an immigrant from Mexico to the US.

Luke Greenfield was making films at home since the age of 10. During his teen years, his mother mailed a letter to Steven Spielberg with two tapes and a research paper. She asked him for advice, if he thought her son had the potential to follow his dream. Surprisingly, there was a two page response from Spielberg encouraging him to go for it. Greenfield, attended USC and during this time he made multiple student films. Alive & Kicking is the one that won him several awards at film festivals. Today, he is a writer, director and producer. He is known for, The Right Hook, The Animal, The Girl Next Door and Let’s Be Cops.

I had the opportunity to speak with Luke Greenfield via Zoom about Half Brothers. He discussed his excitement about breaking the cliché about Mexico and showing more of its beauty.
