Several years back, Disney released Maleficent, a new take on the Sleeping Beauty story, which twisted the role of the villain, Maleficent. Rather than portray her as the typical evil mistress, it shows her more as a slighted one — one whose relationship with Aurora was on much friendlier terms than previously believed.
Now, with the new film, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, things look to be getting just a bit more complex, as indicated by the trailer that dropped last month. Now, we have a new poster for the film, and while it doesn’t really bring anything particularly new, it is a nice eyecatch.
Below is the official synopsis for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil:
“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is a fantasy adventure that picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora. The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.”
Let us know what you think of the poster down below! Maleficent: Mistress of Evil hits theaters on October 18, 2019.
