Zack Snyder is a huge geek. Looking at his filmography alone, it’s very clear that the man has a solid appreciation of comics, anime, and film in general. A lot of his stylistic flares are embellishments of comic book panels, and some of his shots could occasionally be plucked right out of other films.

One Reddit user has now gone on to literally pull one of those aforementioned shots, and put it alongside another iconic scene from Return of the Jedi, the final film in the original Star Wars trilogy. The scene in question takes place immediately after Lando and co. destroy the core of the Death Star, and then begin their dangerous journey to vacate its bowels before they explode along with it.

The aforementioned user happened to watch Man of Steel, and noticed that one series of shots, in particular, looked like they were almost directly pulled from that scene. Check it out below:

Some may argue that this is just a coincidence. After all, both movies just happen to have instances where a hero is trying to escape a crumbling structure around them, but given Snyder’s film track record, along with his outspoken love of Star Wars, we think there’s a good chance this was indeed an intentional pull.

What do you think? Was this a coincidence, or a very clear homage? Let us know your thoughts down below!
