According to the latest Barside Buzz, Mando Season 4 is not going to be a movie despite some recent rumors. If you recall way back in the midst of the strikes regular leakers MSW said they had heard some rumblings about Lucasfilm pivoting Mando S4 into a film. However at the time, it seemed unlikely. It was then later claimed the plan was scrapped and still to be a TV series.

However, just last week another insider (Jeff Sneider) claimed that he had heard some buzz around Mando becoming a movie also. Well now, both MSW and Bespin Bulletin have debunked this claim. Both have good hit rates for Star Wars, especially Mandalorian related news, and they say this is definitely not the case.

‘As we’re referring to The Mandalorian season four as a season and not a film, it was said by MakingStarWars yesterday during a live-stream of his podcast that he’s heard from sources that The Mandalorian season four is still planned as a season of TV and is not being transformed into a movie as reported by Jeff Sneider on Friday. I was planning to include it an article I had planned to release this week that I had heard from sources (separate from those tied to MakingStarWars) that season four of Mando is not a movie and that it’s currently moving forward as a TV series.’

I never covered the report from Sneider last week. That was partly because I wanted to wait and hear from these two sources. You see Sneider seems to be the best informed insider for anything to do with the Rey Sequel in development. However, he’s not got a great hit rate for Mando or streaming Star Wars, so far. Whereas MSW and BB both do. Therefore, I guess it depends what projects your sources work on doesn’t it?

I’m in no way saying Sneider is wrong and MSW and BB are right, this is all rumor. However, it’s a harder task to believe the more grandiose claim without some evidence, or back up. The fact the people who initially reported this are not backing it up for me means it is unlikely. However, never say never. I do believe this was seriously discussed as an option by Lucasfilm during the strikes.
