Mark Hamill Praises Secrecy Of The Mandalorian Season Finale

I’m sure by now you have either seen The Mandalorian Season finale, heard about it, or don’t care about it. If not, sorry, but my SPOILER policy on TV shows is a few days. So let’s just get straight into the story. Mark Hamill voiced a de-aged version of Luke Skywalker for The Mandalorian finale. Luke turned up to both save the day and take little Grogu with him for training. This was a huge shock to fans as there had been zero rumors or leaks surrounding Luke’s appearance. Hamill was quick to praise the secrecy on show when he posted this on social media.

The Mandalorian finale

It is remarkable how Lucasfilm were able to keep Luke’s return so quiet. LRM were told by our source that the only actor who knew that character was Luke was Pedro Pascal himself. The rest just knew it was a ‘Jedi’. That sounds like a remarkably difficult scenario to set up, so kudos to Lucasfilm for pulling it off. In this day and age, it’s tricky to keep secrets but The Mandalorian has managed to pull off surprises before.

I think the fan base on a whole was blown away by that Luke scene. I personally did not care much for the CGI. However, since it was only one scene I am ok with it. If Luke is ever to return though, my preferences would be a recast for live-action or even better, something animated with Hamill on voice work. An animated Jedi Academy show could use the voice talents of Hamill, Ford, Williams, an eventually even Adam Driver. That would excite me greatly as a fan.

What did you think of The Mandalorian finale for Season 2? Were you giddy to finally see a bad-ass Luke Skywalker? As always leave any thoughts you have below, or on Discord.
