When you have a movie that’s reached the levels of popular culture that Star Wars has, it would be all to easy for the stars of the films to be jaded. Having so much attention put on every little action on screen would drive most people a little crazy. Some, like Jake Lloyd, who played the young Anakin Skywalker in The Phantom Menace, have even gone off the deep end due to the pressure.

Then you have someone like Mark Hamill. This guy understands his place in the Star Wars universe when it comes to fan relations. It’s also nice to see him simply enjoying himself. Sometimes you see stars that cooperate in stunts like this and you can tell they clearly aren’t enjoying themselves. Mark is having a great time in this video.

Lucasfilm Ltd is teaming with UNICEF and the Starlight Foundation to help raise money for those organizations. Prizes include a private lunch with Mark, a chance to see a pre-showing of The Last Jedi, plus a chance to have a walk on role in the unnamed Han Solo movie.

The video is funny in and of itself. What I appreciate most is the willingness of Lucasfilm LTD to continue toembrace fan culture, if not more so, than other franchises like Star Trek. While Star Trek is embroiled in a court case over the fan film Axanar, the Star Wars franchise continues to find ways to embrace the fans, such as videos like this as well as their Fan Film Awards.

So what do you think? Did you enjoy the video? Do you think the Star Wars franchise and Lucasfilm LTD do a good job of showing their appreciation to the fans? Are you going to enter the contest on the off chance you may end up winning? Sound off in the comments section below.
