The man. The myth. The legend. Mark Hamill.
Some surely recognize him as the best Joker of all from his work on Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: The Killing Joke, the Arkham series of video games, and many other little appearances here and there. To millions more, however, Mark Hamill will always be Luke Skywalker, both in the original Star Wars Trilogy and the current one.
Leading up to the annual Star Wars Celebration, Hamill has released what may be the very first photo of him in character as Luke Skywalker on Twitter! The photo is from the first day of shooting in Tunisia in March 1976.
Tunisia? I mean Tatooine, of course!

Fascinating! Truly a piece of history that belongs in a museum.
Hamill is hardly done with the role, as he will return in Star Wars: The Last Jedi on December 15, 2017. In it, Luke will take over the role of the old, wise trainer to Rey’s young potential Jedi, with whom the Force is with, always, in a very strong way. Not much is known about the plot, but we do know he has actually has dialogue this time, though it is unknown how talkative the Jedi Master will be.
If you enjoy historic photos such as this, you should definitely follow Mark Hamill on Twitter @HamillHimself. Hamill often posts behind the scenes photos from his private collection, and has quite the sense of humor to boot!
