Marvel Accommodating Of Shawn Levy’s Stranger Things 5 Commitments

A Stranger Things animated spin-off series has been ordered at Netflix. That's the news, though other details are slim.

According to the filmmaker himself Marvel has been very accommodating of Shawn Levy’s Stranger Things 5 commitments. Levy spoke with Collider ahead of both Deadpool 3 and Stranger Things 5. Levy is an exec producer on ST and has directed at least one episode of every season so far. That is something Levy wants to continue into Season 5, the final season of the show.

However Levy as I’m sure you know, is also directing Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3 for Marvel Studios. Luckily Levy tells Collider that everyone is being very accommodating.

“In fact, one of the first conversations I had with Ryan Reynolds and Marvel when we started talking about Deadpool was the fact that it was inevitably going to overlap in someway and at some point with the final season of Stranger Things. And it is really important to me to direct at least one episode in the last season. Part of why I feel so close to the Duffers and our cast is that I’ve been lucky to be involved directorially, which is a unique connection and creative intimacy. Anyway, it’s very much my intention to direct at least one episode of Stranger Things 5, and everyone involved is being really supportive and collaborative in figuring out the scheduling aspects of how I can do that.”

Levy went on to talk some more about the upcoming Stranger Things 5. How powerful the pitch was, and how he wants to keep what made the show so big to begin with. Feel free to check the original story in the link above from the source for the full interview.  It’s going to be a busy year for Shawn Levy. Not to worry though, once he gets finished producing Stranger Things 5 and directing Deadpool 3, he can just chillax. After that Levy’s only got a Star Wars movie to develop and get under cameras. Easy eh?

What do you think of his comments about how Marvel has been very accommodating of Shawn Levy’s Stranger Things 5 commitments? Are you excited to see Stranger Things 5 and Deadppol 3, which excites you most? Thoughts below, as always.
