Marvel Comics’ revolutionary new Ultimate line, launched earlier this year by Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto with Ultimate Spider-Man #1, has taken the comic book world by storm. The debut set a high bar for Marvel’s reimagined characters in Earth-6160, capturing the imaginations of readers worldwide. Now, as the Ultimate titles approach their one-year anniversary, Marvel is celebrating with stunning foil variant covers for the 13th issues of Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, Ultimate X-Men, and Ultimates.

To commemorate this Ultimate line milestone, renowned cover artist and Pixar animator Benjamin Su has created special One Year In foil variant covers that showcase the series’ most iconic heroes as they head into Year Two. Each of the Ultimate series, which has told its stories in real-time with each issue representing a month’s events, has evolved rapidly, setting a fast-paced tone for the Ultimate Universe.

The upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate Black Panther variants tease intense storylines for Peter Parker and T’Challa. In Ultimate Spider-Man, Peter finds himself hunted by Kraven the Hunter in a thrilling arc that will test his survival skills. Meanwhile, Ultimate Black Panther depicts T’Challa confronting Wakanda’s greatest threat yet—seeking the Sorcerer Supreme’s help to combat Moon Knight in a desperate attempt to save his kingdom, at the risk of his own soul.
