Marvel Comics is gearing up for a thrilling celebration of Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month with the release of GHOST RIDER: ROBBIE REYES SPECIAL #1. This one-shot comic, part of the Marvel’s Voices line, will spotlight the fiery and iconic Robbie Reyes, offering fans a trio of action-packed stories that highlight Hispanic and Latin American creators and culture.
Scheduled to hit shelves in October, GHOST RIDER: ROBBIE REYES SPECIAL #1 will showcase the work of acclaimed talents and emerging stars. Notably, Robbie Reyes co-creator Felipe Smith will make a much-anticipated return. Robbie Reyes, the street racer from East Los Angeles who was engulfed in hellfire and transformed into the Spirit of Vengeance, first appeared a decade ago in All-New Ghost Rider #1. Since then, he has evolved into a beloved character within the Marvel Universe and a key member of the Avengers.
In this special issue, fans will witness Robbie Reyes’ journey as he takes his vengeance to new heights. The comic will also introduce a brand-new character, Fantasma, created by Luciano Vecchio, who made her first appearance in last year’s New Champions variant cover program.
Readers can look forward to three distinct and captivating stories:
- The God Quarry Struggle: Writer Carlos Hernandez and artist Moises Hidalgo explore Robbie Reyes’ time stranded in the God Quarry following the conclusion of Jason Aaron’s Avengers run. The story delves into how his family and friends cope with his heroic sacrifice.
- Interdimensional Battle: Co-creator Felipe Smith teams up with artist Daniel Bayliss to unleash Robbie’s full power against an interdimensional foe. This tale promises inspiration and a display of heroic destiny.
- Fantasma’s Roller Derby Debut: Writer Melissa Flores and Marvel Stormbreaker artist Jan Bazaldua introduce Isabella “Izzy” Alvarez, a Colombian roller derby champion with a cursed secret. In her thrilling debut as Fantasma, Izzy teams up with Robbie Reyes to battle a horde of Hellhounds.
