Marvel Retconning How The Fantastic Four Got Their Superpowers?

It looks like Marvel is going to start making some big changes in the world of their comics. For decades, they’ve made tons of changes, but how the Fantastic Four got their powers has been pretty darn consistent. Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm all went on a rocket ship, where they were exposed to radiation, leading to their superhuman abilities.

Sure, it’s a bit silly, but it was an origin story that was very representative of the time all those decades ago. Well, it looks like that may be changing in the very near future. Earlier today, Marvel sent out a tease, bringing into question that tried and true story we’ve all either read or heard so much about in the past.

True to the tagline, this will be a reveal that could destroy Marvel history as we know it, but it doesn’t look like the Fantastic Four will be the only victims. Another tease they gave came in the form of another page tease, this time revolving around Spider-Man.

Giving up on humanity, Peter Parker decided to give up the moniker of Spider-Man for some time back in 1967. Sure, he went on to re-don his webs, but there may be an unknown reason why he decided to come back.

Hm…the plot thickens…
