Marvel Rumor: Falcon And The Winter Soldier To Introduce The Thunderbolts?

Yesterday we shared some news that a mystery villain could be showing up in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. No one has said who that may be, but perhaps we now have more of a clue. Today’s rumor is all about villains in that show, so putting two and two together, we can probably come up with ten, but who knows?

The folks over at Full Circle Cinema have reported that sources have given them the heads up on an interesting piece of information about the first MCU show to appear on Disney+. Apparently Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be the MCU introduction of the Thunderbolts. If you don’t know what they are, (didn’t you guys ever go to a comic book store?) the Thunderbolts are a sort of anti-Avengers, a group of villains put together as a team supposedly to help, and led by General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, who is of course secretary Ross in the MCU currently. We also know that Ross is going to show up in Black Widow (see image above), though perhaps as a flashback given his younger look.

This does make a little sense, given that Daniel Bruhl’s Zemo is back, Zemo has been a member of this team in many versions across the comic books. Various other villains could make up that team, including those we have may have seen before and are still currently active in the MCU. There could also be villains making their debut and perhaps that is where yesterday’s story about a mystery villain comes in? That’s simply guess work for now, but a similar story breaking across a 24 hour period makes me think there is a connection.

We also know US Agent is making his debut in this show, and one wonders if he will be the ‘Cap’ for the Thunderbolts, IF this rumor pans out as true. I would also say that prior to this rumor one of the overarching predictions fans had about the mystery villain (details in related section below), were the Thunderbolts. We assume the outlet has vetted their sources, but you just never know in this business and even the best rumors can turn out to be incorrect. If the full Thunderbolts team is assembled (no one has said this specifically), that would seem a little too much heat for Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes to handle. Sam may have Cap’s shield, but he has no current superpowers and whilst Bucky has similar powers to Cap, that could still make them underpowered against the Thunderbolts, depending on who is on the team.

I guess as time goes on, we will likely get a clearer picture of where this show is going. For now, we will have to stick to rumors and speculation, and where better to do that than in our comments section below?
